SupastitionSupastition

Though he had a few indie releases under his belt long before, Supastition garnered his first dose of national attention when his Nicolay - produced song "The Williams" was hand-selected by ?uestlove of the Roots’ Okayplayer Records to appear on their compilation album. Shortly after the song’s release, North Carolina native Supastition inked a deal in 2005 with NYC-based Soulspazm Records to release his fan-favorite The Deadline EP (2005) and the critically acclaimed Chain Letters (2006), which featured Phonte & Big Pooh of Little Brother and production from Illmind (G-Unit, Busta Rhymes), Jake One (G-Unit, De La Soul), and Australian producer M-phazes. Supa has frequently been featured and praised in XXL, The Source, Scratch, Elemental, URB, and other magazine publications. His affiliation with fellow North Carolina artists Little Brother garnered him even more attention when Supa appeared on both of their mixtapes (Chittlin’ Circuit, Gangsta Grillz: Separate But Equal). Supastition’s witty yet aggressive delivery and work ethic has led him to guest appearances on songs with KRS One, Royce the 5’9, Elzhi (of Slum Village), Cunninlynguists, Stoupe (Jedi Mind Tricks), Nicolay, Oddisee, DJ Rhettmatic (Beat Junkies), and Illmind & Symbolyc One (of Strange Fruit Project). Chain Letters was recently re-released by the legendary Rawkus Records in October 2006.

Armed with strong production and incredible energy, Supastition works wonders on the stage during his performances without a hypeman or any assistance. His reputation has spread worldwide throughout the US after gracing the stage and headlining shows in LA, ATL, Charlotte, Philly, and Las Vegas, to name a few. In 2006, international hip hop fans got their first dose of Supastition when he toured 3 times in Europe in one year, visiting more than 10 countries in an 8 month period alongside Jus Allah (JMT), Chief Kamachi (AOTP), Cesar Comanche (Justus League), and Eternia. Supastition went on to headline tours in major cities such as Berlin, Paris, Stockholm, London, Oslo, Melbourne, Sydney and Copenhagen, leaving crowds in amazement every time. He has also appeared on the bill with some of hip hop’s elite including KRS One, Little Brother, J Zone, Pete Rock, Faust & Shortee, J-Ro of the Alkaholiks (who praised Supastition’s performance in Denmark), and many others. Supastition is currently on the road promoting his upcoming LP entitled Leave of Absence in a joint venture with his Reform School Music and Domination Recordings.
