DJ MafiosoDJ Mafioso

Dj Mafioso: (el platano maduro, binkis secret weapon, LL Mafi) Atl's Most Versatile dj... Born to Dominican immigrant with Corona, Queens NYC roots and an ATL foundation Mafioso infuses many styles to create his own. Always sprinkling that Latin sazon sound on everything he touches. Known for his turntable skills on top and under the decks. Every Djs best friend, this savvy turntable tech has been killin it on the decks and literally resurrecting dead or broken turntables of all sorts with his unique and prosperous turntable repairs and modifications business. Mafioso has traveled internationally to spread his sound but in ATL he is always at his best.

Started out in the ATL dancehall scene carrying speakers and hooking up equipment he quickly rose up the ranks to be featured in ATL's most prosperous and historically rich clubs and venues. Hip Hop of course is his main love, so from djing he began learning and mastering the art of production and engineering. Hooked up with Bambu de Asiatic (of Collective Efforts fame) to hone his production skills while Bambu honed his writing and mc skills and produced the full length Personal Revelations. (A rare classic in today's time) Rocking shows all over Atlanta, Florida, and Detroit the full length caught the attention of quite of few people. But soon life through in a wrench in the game when in 97 while rocking a show with Bambu at the infamous MJQ in Atlanta he was approached by three black kids who called themselves Binkis Recs to assist in rocking a show with them since there personal dj (read close DJ DRAMA of Gangsta Grillz) became too busy to handle the chores of the crew. Mafioso stepped in and flawlessly stole the show with Binkis. "It just all clicked with the brothers and it felt right" They soon began recording and rocking shows together while at the same time Bambu de Asiatic started filling in vocal spots in a group called L.O.A which later transformed into Collective Efforts. With the addition of Mafioso to Binkis recs they were soon billed as the Coldcrush Brothers of the new millennium "Today we all go down in history as the original underground hip hop scene in Atlanta and we haven’t missed a step"

While working a full time job, recording full time, djing, hacking turntables and dj equipment somehow Mafioso found the time to produce his first mixtape "From the clubs to the Streets" in 96 followed up by "An exploration into the ATL Underground Sound" soon after which led to the La Bodega series. The La Bodega series has always been about promoting and pushing the around the way ATL local sound far and beyond. Now in volume 3 it continues to feature an all-star cast of whose who in ATL independents as well as Mafioso's signature production on all tracks. Dj Mafioso even recorded, mixed, and mastered the entire project on his personal studio "Put 2 Wires 2gether Studios. It wouldn’t take long for the industry to take notice of this bright Dominican kid from around the way and now thru Domination Recordings we are going far and beyond the scope of the hip hop scene in ATL.
